To eliminate the separation of spaces between the kitchen and family room, the railing was removed and the powder bath was relocated to the front/formal living room, which serves as an office/study. A new dry bar was designed in place of the original desk in transform this once trendy oak kitchen into a bright new space; boasting an oversized island-perfect for the empty-nesters to entertain & host family gatherings! The renovation was completed with refinished floors & a laundry refresh!
R37: 6201 Chowen Ave. S, Edina 55410
Imagine the potential within your existing 1960’s rambler! This Edina remodel is a perfect illustration of what’s possible if the teardown method isn’t for you. The 3-season porch was removed to construct an addition that provided the homeowners with a mudroom, powder bath and larger family room. The kitchen & appliance layout was reconfigured to improve functionality & create a larger island with seating. While much of this main level received new upgrades; the original brick fireplace was preserved and incorporated into the new design. Final touches included refinishing the existing hardwood floors & enameling the golden oak millwork.
R11: 3778 Brighton Way N, Arden Hills
Functional and open-concept are now part of this 80s home’s vocabulary! By converting unused space, the family now enjoys the luxury of a mudroom bench & drop zone off the garage entry. To improve the functionality and create an open-concept, walls were removed between the kitchen, dining & living room. The homeowners said “Adios!”to their golden oak kitchen and “Hello!”to a newly designed, transitional painted white & gray kitchen. Double glass barn doors were added between the office & living room to improve the overall space layout and furniture options. The powder bath and other updates create a seamless main level renovation.
