See how you can seamlessly complete your whole-home renovation in phases! The previous kitchen which separated the dining and family room was opened up to create a more function and open-concept floor plan with the addition of an island for informal seating. The family room showcases a new cozy fireplace with built-ins. The master suite was refreshed to create a seamless main-level transformation! The deck off the back of the home was expanded to allow the addition of a new three-season porch, and finally the lower level includes a new media room fireplace, dry bar and a completely refreshed bathroom.
R9: 1650 Wyndham Hill Drive, Hastings 55033
From confined to WOW! By exposing the staircase and removing the entry walls closing in the formal dining room and KT, sight-lines were created throughout. With hopes of a larger KT while constrained within the original footprint, the KT was extended into the previous dining room to create a large island with ample seating and space for entertaining. The biggest challenge came from removing the supporting wall housing the electrical, plumbing, requiring all to be relocated in a structural column that was made into a decorative statement with shelving to match their new family room’s modern contemporary fireplace and built-ins.
R22: 5500 Maple Heights Road, Excelsior 55331
With stunning Lake Minnetonka views, this home now has the perfect spaces to enjoy the lake both inside and out. Inside, the main level was opened up by removing the half-wall cabinetry between structural columns, separating the KT and living room. By doing so, it allowed for improved sight-lines and functionality throughout creating the desired open-concept. Coastal blue and painted white cabinetry create a light, refreshing ambiance ideal for this lake home, improved from golden oak cabinetry and dark countertops. The new deck now spans across the lakefront of the home with a glass railing system off the new 3-season porch.
R63: 510 Wedgewood Drive, Mahtomedi 55115
Functional, open-concept and larger kitchen topped the homeowners’ project wishlist! By converting the unused front formal living room into the homeowner’s dining room, we were able to remove the wall separating the kitchen and previous dining room to extend the kitchen into both spaces. This change allowed for us to add a large island, dry bar, pantry and opening up the entry between the kitchen and dining room to create sight lines from front to back of the home. The family’s mud room was improved by re-configuring the garage entry and powder bath to create space for a bench/storage system and main-floor washer and dryer.
