Design Manager

To provide the company a platform of industry leading Architectural and Interior Design; support the efforts of the sales and production teams in design; manage the design team and projects to provide creative and functional designs for our clients.

  • Supervise and manage design staff including architectural drafters, lead designers, Certified Kitchen Designer and Design Assistants
  • Serve as a lead Interior Designer on projects throughout the year to contribute to overall design capacity and output and allow a hands-on evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of our design process from the perspective of employees, vendors and clients
  • Manage Ispiri Design Showrooms to assure industry leading resource for clients and staff – provide vision of innovative design platform, convenience and differentiator in marketplace.
  • Manage product trade partner relationships, product selections, pricing to ensure quality and high end clientele met and meets the Ispiri brand and demographic goals
  • Develop and manage department goals to achieve results/success
  • Ensure compliance to all Design Department processes
  • Recruit, interview, hire and onboard new Design Department employees
  • Promote Ispiri’s core vision, mission, values and culture
  • Submit required reporting to management team and President as requested
  • Work collaboratively with Sales and Production departments to define, refine and enhance internal processes as necessary to deliver quality, on-time and on-budget projects and meet or exceed client expectations
  • Manage team participation in Design Awards and marketing events

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Interior Design
  • Industry certifications a plus
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience in residential construction
  • Minimum 3-5 years of managerial or project team leadership experience
  • Exceptional Sales and design presentation experience
  • Superior communication skills necessary to lead and manage a team
  • Ability to set goals and give clear direction to direct reports
  • Ability to develop schedules, manage/monitor team workloads, and meet design deadlines
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Exceptional design skills and the ability to deliver solutions to meet client’s needs and wants
