Architectural Designer
Department: Design Team
Purpose: To create detailed, accurate plans and designs
Reporting to: Design Manager
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Site measure new Design Agreements, verifying all existing conditions
- Develop As-Built drawings, showing the location of electrical and HVAC
- Verify setbacks, easements, etc. when an addition, deck, or porch is involved
- Work with Interior Designer and Design Consultant to design new space that fits the budget of client
- Develop conceptual drawings
- Meet deadlines set forth by DC and Production
- Create 3D presentations with ID using actual color samples and materials
- Create detailed plans for bidding, contract, FSR, and construction
- Review structural alterations with the Production Manager
- Coordinate with outside structural engineers and land surveyors when needed
- Submit permit applications, variance applications, and other city-required applications
- Submit & work with Home owners association for approval when necessary
- Maintain and upgrade Chief Architect 3D content library
- Maintain and keep AutoCAD and Chief Architect software licenses up to date
- Plotter Maintenance/Drafting supplies and inform FIS when additional supplies are needed
- Coordinate Gopher State One Call for field locates prior to excavation
- Track actual permit costs and inform ID and DC of overages
- Stay informed of local codes and ordinances
- Review truss and other structural drawings for accuracy
- Maintain all plan files in an organized fashion
- Address issues as they arise from Production / Field
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 – 4 year Design Degree or Architectural Design
- Chief Architect Software experience
