Architectural Designer

Department: Design Team

Purpose: To create detailed, accurate plans and designs

Reporting to: Design Manager

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Site measure new Design Agreements, verifying all existing conditions
  • Develop As-Built drawings, showing the location of electrical and HVAC
  • Verify setbacks, easements, etc. when an addition, deck, or porch is involved
  • Work with Interior Designer and Design Consultant to design new space that fits the budget of client
  • Develop conceptual drawings
  • Meet deadlines set forth by DC and Production
  • Create 3D presentations with ID using actual color samples and materials
  • Create detailed plans for bidding, contract, FSR, and construction
  • Review structural alterations with the Production Manager
  • Coordinate with outside structural engineers and land surveyors when needed
  • Submit permit applications, variance applications, and other city-required applications
  • Submit & work with Home owners association for approval when necessary
  • Maintain and upgrade Chief Architect 3D content library
  • Maintain and keep AutoCAD and Chief Architect software licenses up to date
  • Plotter Maintenance/Drafting supplies and inform FIS when additional supplies are needed
  • Coordinate Gopher State One Call for field locates prior to excavation
  • Track actual permit costs and inform ID and DC of overages
  • Stay informed of local codes and ordinances
  • Review truss and other structural drawings for accuracy
  • Maintain all plan files in an organized fashion
  • Address issues as they arise from Production / Field

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 – 4 year Design Degree or Architectural Design
  • Chief Architect Software experience
