The client wanted to make changes to the deck due to too much sun in the daytime making it difficult to sit out and enjoy the weather. Pesky mosquitos kept the family from using the deck after dusk. The homeowners wanted a space where they could be outdoors and enjoy the weather without battling the sun and bugs.
The client went to Ispiri for solutions and recommendations to turn their deck into a family-style outdoor covered screen porch. They wanted a family room-style porch that allowed them to sit by the fireplace, watch TV, entertain at the bar and eat meals. The design-build experts at Ispiri helped the homeowners create this vision with all of the details they wanted for their outdoor covered porch.
Contact UsIspiri created a roofed porch with vinyl-type windows to protect the outdoor screen porch from the wind and rain as well as a screen that allows the client to open all the windows to bring in the breeze without the bugs. Ispiri installed heat lamps on the ceiling to allow them to use the covered porch year-round. Ispiri also designed a sliding barn-style door over the TV to both conceal and protect it from the outside.
The family is now able to enjoy watching TV while taking in the fresh outdoor air. At night they can sit by their fireplace and turn on the heat lamps for warmth in the colder months. The dining and bar area can be used to entertain guests and have the family together for dinner.
