The existing cramped kitchen was no longer functional with a large family.
This transformation began with creating a mudroom by reconfiguring the kitchen walls and doorways allowing for a more efficient space; especially with the addition of a new bedroom by eliminating the fireplace and vaulted ceiling over the dinette side of the kitchen.
With these changes, the design for the kitchen fell into place & opened up the space for a large island with seating, dry bar topped with floating shelves and wine storage. Dark knotty alder pulled all areas together, including the kitchen island corner shelves and the dry bar. The finishing touch was the soft white-painted perimeter cabinetry brought to life by the glass backsplash.
