When this family came to Ispiri, they had one thing in mind: making their basement a space that served and delighted all of them. They wanted a family room, a theater room, a craft room, a rustic basement bar, a space for instruments, and a comfortable bathroom for all their visitors.
This project had two main goals. First, to create a space that felt cozy and rustic but was made from practical materials they wouldn’t have to worry about their sons damaging. Second, to make sure there were several dynamic areas for friends and family to congregate and enjoy spending time together.

One homeowner priority was a rustic basement bar: a space to gather with friends and family to share their love of wine. Dark wooden built-in wine shelves sit on the wet bar’s natural stone countertop, covering a drawer dishwasher and row of glass-front beverage fridges.
The goal was for this space to feel like a “rustic vineyard” and the color, material, and design specs chosen were able to make that dream a reality.
